This project tests new program design approaches for implementing energy management information systems that help industrial customers optimize their energy use.
This project aims to recruit up to five large industrial customers with the goal of installing a new energy management information system (EMIS) and implementing related energy efficiency recommendations over a two-year period. This program model has been successfully demonstrated in another Midwest state to yield high-volume, low-cost savings opportunities beyond the industrial measures typically incentivized by utility energy efficiency programs. In the first year, the project team will focus on developing and implementing a unique EMIS at each pilot site. In the second year, they will focus on helping each participant use the EMIS to achieve energy savings.
